Celebrating Indigenous Brilliance: Summer Reading & Beyond
Looking for a summer read, podcast, film, travel destination or learning resource?
Participants in the 2025-26 Unlearning & Undoing Club have curated Celebrating Indigenous Brilliance – a collection of books, films, podcasts, music, travel recommendations and other resources that have inspired their learning journeys.
Growing from the Unlearning & Undoing Club…
From November 2025 to June 2026, the first offering of the Unlearning & Undoing Club brought together healthcare practitioners, team members and others working across healthcare in Kootenay Boundary for a seven-part learning series rooted in love and care.
Hosted by the Circle of Indigenous Nations Society (COINS) Aboriginal Wellness Team in partnership with the Kootenay Boundary Primary Care Network (PCN), the series created space to collectively deepen knowledge and practice in identifying and addressing systemic racism and discrimination in healthcare.
For the final gathering in June, participants turned their attention to Celebrating Indigenous Brilliance – sharing the Indigenous authors, artists, musicians, storytellers, thinkers, places and resources that have inspired them and supported their learning.
The result is a wonderfully varied collection of inspiration for continued learning and curiosity. Explore book and children’s book recommendations, podcasts, films and television, music, Indigenous stories and language resources, places to visit, food and tourism experiences, local art, and resources for ongoing learning.
The collection also offers an invitation to deepen our connection to the lands where we live and travel, and to get curious about the Indigenous leaders, artists, academics and creatives whose work is shaping the world around us.
