The smudging ceremony reflects the collective knowledge of the First Peoples who have always been here. It is not owned by any one entity.

This video was created in partnership as a step toward fostering greater understanding and respect for Indigenous cultural practices within healthcare environments.

Creating safe, culturally inclusive spaces in healthcare is essential to building trust and improving outcomes for Indigenous patients and families. This video provides meaningful insight into the cultural and spiritual importance of smudging, along with guidance on how it can be respectfully supported in hospitals, clinics, and other health care settings.
